 LET'S TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD...


1ºESO LAB VOCABULARY – 1st Term 


a)       Accommodation: buildings or rooms where people live or stay.

b)      Foreign currency:  money from a country that is not your own.

c)       Flea market: a street market selling second-hand goods.

d)      Outskirts: the outer parts of a town or city.

e)      Downtown: the central part of a city.

f)        Square: In a city or town, an open, four-sided, area surrounded by buildings

g)       Travel agent: a person that organizes people's holidays and journeys.

h)      Itinerary: a plan of a journey, including the route and the places that you will visit.

i)        Amusement Park: a park that features various attractions, such as rides and games, as well as other events for entertainment purposes.

j)        Stop over: Stay somewhere for a short time during a long journey.

         Example: I wanted to stop over in India on the way to Australia.

k)        Look forward to: be excited about.

l)    (You) can’t miss: strong recommendation.

m)      Go sightseeing: the activity of visiting the famous or interesting places of an area.

n)      Go backpacking: the activity of travelling while carrying your clothes and other things that you need in a backpack, usually not spending very much money and staying in places that are not expensive.

o)      to Book: to reserve in advance.

7. Book the TICKETS if needed. Where can you get them?

8. Will you RENT a car or a bike there? 

9. Book your ACCOMMODATION. Will you go camping? 

10. Book your ACTIVITIES: Sightseeing?

Hello guys... Let's start our speaking classes! The first session will be the big opening and we have prepared some nice activities to begin with...
